Chicken has got to be one of the most universal meats we have today. You can do so much with it, and you get so much from it. Have you got a really terrific chicken recipe that every time your family sits down to the table puts a smile on their face? Most of us do have such a wonderful recipe, for some of us it is fried chicken, and for others it will be our famous chicken soup. The funny thing about a chicken recipe is that you can take the same recipe and alter a couple of ingredients and have a whole new dish. Or you can take an existing recipe that does not contain any chicken at all, perhaps that famous pasta salad that you make, toss in some cubed chicken and you have got a whole new chicken recipe that will delight your friends and family for years to come. And of course from that one alteration, you can create a whole list of new chicken recipe dishes.
Whenever one thinks of preparing good and tasty food first thing that comes to your mind is chicken which is one of the most popular choice. Whether you are planning to dine in five star restaurants or eating simple meal at home, chicken dishes are favorite of everyone. Many unique recipes can be prepared with chicken as you can add different flavors to create many delicious dishes. The various types of chicken recipes, whether fried, boiled, broiled, baked, grilled can be prepared using it. Some people stick to some particular flavor and like to enjoy chicken in only a particular type of recipe.
The next healthy chicken recipe we will discuss is Chicken Pesto Sandwich. This is ideal as a filling lunch. Take ½ cup low-fat mayonnaise, 1/3 cup fat-free plain yoghurt and 1/3 cup of Buitoni pesto. Whisk them all together in a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add to it roasted and cubed skinless, boneless chicken breasts. Next add diced celery. Mix them well and keep aside. Take 1 pound focaccia bread, cut it into two halves horizontally and then slice it accordingly. Take the salad mixture and place 1 tablespoon on one slice of bread. Top it up with some bell peppers and Romaine lettuce. Place the second slice to cover the sandwich. A healthy and sumptuous lunch is ready.
