And for a moment let us keep in mind the nutritional value of chicken. It is high in protein, low in fat, and absolutely no carbs when skinless. You may be surprised to learn that it is a rich source of niacin, vitamins B-6, B-12, Vitamin D, iron, and zinc! It is pretty close to a perfect meat. How many mothers keep a chicken soup recipe in their kitchen for those times when somebody in the family is sick? They know the healing power of chicken! Make sure you keep enough chicken recipes on hand in your kitchen to serve it often and never get tired of it!
Coat chicken with combined flour, salt, paprika and pepper. Dip in oil and place skin side down in pan. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes and turn chicken and bake 30 minutes or until done. Obviously, this is not how we usually do it down here, but it is a good recipe that I wanted to share with you. Now for the good stuff! Next, I want to share with you a good southern fried chicken recipe.
To prepare the healthy chicken recipe, preheat your oven at 350 degrees F first. Mix well the crushed rosemary, oregano and sage in a small bowl. Rub the herb mixture on one side of the chicken breasts and arrange them in a baking dish with the herbed sides facing up. Pour the chicken broth over the chicken and bake for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the raspberry preserves in the microwave until they are soft which will take only about 30 seconds. Mix it well with the rosemary and the honey mustard. Spread the preserve mixture over the chicken breasts and bake for another 10 minutes. This healthy recipe will not take too long to prepare and it will surely taste great if you do it properly.
